Case Study on Life Experience of Person with Chronic Mental Disorder

Abstract
This study explored the meaning of the life experience of person with chronic mental disorder using Parse¡¯s human becoming theory as the conceptual framework The methodology of the study was based on the qualitative descriptive case method proposed by Parse, Coyne and Smith(1985). Analysis of the data gathered from one person with chronic mental disorder during 7 years after discharge from psychiatric hospital.
The data was revealed the emergence of three themes related to the meaning ol the lived experience of participant¡¯s life.
1. Changed his self-awareness & value system Through various painful life experience about chronic mental disorder.
2. Enlargement interpersonal & object relationship through socialization process as experience of enabling limiting in his daily life.
3. Struggled to transform for ideal realization with unfolding possibility in difficult life process
The hypothetical statement supports the second theoretical structure of parse¡¯s human being theory which was used to guide this study, originating is a manifestation of enabling- limiting valuing?
This study contributed to develop nursing knowledge of the life experience of person with chronic mental disorder.
